This session will highlight the latest researcher by Marc Tobias (Security Laboratories) including a lockpicking demo. Marc has been a long-time member of both ASIS and InfraGard and runs a security engineering lab at University of Pittsburgh. He and his team work for all the major lock manufacturers in the U.S. and Europe, analyzing security vulnerabilities. He has lectured throughout the world and has been granted 32 U.S. patents.

His presentation concerns the topics in his latest book, Tobias on Locks and Insecurity Engineering.

He will discuss numerous topics including:

Ways to differentiate between fatally flawed locks and solid, secure options

Several relevant and real-world case examples of catastrophic lock design failures that led to monetary loss, property damage, or bodily harm

Examinations of lock security from the perspectives of forced entry, covert entry, and key-control
